Hey there 🙂
Thanks for joining! Can you believe it is September already!? I could be imagining it, but I’m sure I’ve already started to feel that cold nip to the air in the mornings. As usual, I don’t feel like the weather was very summery, but we did have a few nice weeks. What did you get up to? I’d love to hear if you did anything interesting! As the nights draw in, and we get back into non-summery routines, I wanted to start thinking about autumn fashion.
Now, if you know me, you’ll know I love autumn/winter style the best. Actually, to be honest… I just love autumn and winter full stop. The dark evenings, blankets and cosy jumpers are just something I really look forward to, so I’m super excited it’s that time again! I know I am slightly getting ahead of myself, maybe it’s not time to dust down the thick coats yet, but I do want to get thinking about autumn fashion in this post. I thought I’d share with you some of my top picks for this new season. I’ll try and resist buying them all…
So as I already mentioned, jumpers do excite me, I think I have too many (said no one ever!). I’ve recently discovered Vila. I was searching through ASOS and saw a suggestion for the brand and I was surprised by how well priced their items are. I think the most expensive jumper they have is only about £32 or something. I’ve picked out these two gorgeous jumpers:
I like how simple yet unique this one is. The ballon sleeves add that bit of extra quirk (plus they’ll keep your arms warm!). The colour as well is great, as it’ll go with literally anything. At £22, this is fantastic value for money. It looks nice quality too.
This jumper really caught my eye! It’s got such a retro vibe with the roll neck and wide cuffs. I love the colour too, its a stunning soft pink and could be really causal with jeans as shown above, or styled to be smarter for office wear with some wide leg culottes or something. Lovely!
Accessories are really important in autumn fashion. They help when you’re layering to add the finishing touch and really bring an outfit together. I’ve come up with a few suggestions for things you might like, I certainly like them very much!
With this, I just love how they’ve styled it in the photo! A subtle, neutral toned scarf, matched with a cream/light beige outfit. It looks so fresh and classy. Often I do like to go for warmer and more traditional autumn/winter shades, but I like that this is different from my usual choice. So minimal, but eye-catching. It also looks quite thick so would be warm as well as beautiful. 😍
I just love backpacks! I was looking through Accessorize’s website with their choices of bags and this one drew my attention. The burgundy colour is stunning, such an autumn shade! My go-to bag is a midi backpack, I literally use it all the time, so I thoroughly recommend if you don’t have one yourself. The front zip is a useful extra section too for those little things like a lipgloss or mints too!
The Orange Edit!
I wasn’t actually intending to do a feature section on orange, but you know how these things sneak in! After work yesterday, I was shopping in town and made my way into Marks & Spencer. I don’t care what other people say, I just think M&S do it right! They have such good quality fabrics and even if you don’t like the patterned stuff, their basics are the best. Anyway, while in the shop, I noticed the following gorgeous skirt. I then went online and found some more lovely orange and autumnal colours, so that inspired me!
Isn’t this lovely!? Obviously the colour was what drew me to it, but also the detailing with the pleats and the length and everything… Ahh! So nice.
This is basically what I picture autumn fashion to be like. Matched with some nice chunky heeled boots like in the picture and a cosy fluffy jumper, it would just be so perfect and elegant.
I’ve been really into midi skirts recently, they work well in most weather conditions, especially for that cross-over from summer to autumn. They’re also really lovely for smart-casual workwear!
So yes, I have another pick from M&S… I just couldn’t resist putting these in! They’re so retro and funky, I love them! They say on their site that these boots are a real statement piece, and they’re not wrong there. If you’re bold in your fashion and love to make an outfit stand out, then look no further. Really, these are just beyond words. (I’ll stop talking).
Now, I will admit – These are a bit more pricey than I would normally choose, but they drew my attention. The flared leg gives a 70s vintage feel which seems to be really popular at the moment. I will be honest and admit that I don’t know if I could pull these off! I feel like my legs are too short to do these stunning trousers justice! The model just looks perfect in them though, like they were made for each other! Wouldn’t it be nice to have long legs like that…
As you would expect, being in the ‘orange’ section, I really love the colour. Again, such a bold but classy fashion statement that would work well in a chic day wardrobe, or for workwear.
I think that’s all for this post. If I do any more browsing I’ll spend all of my money! I’m very easily convinced… Which of these items did you like the best? Have you done any autumn shopping this year yet? (If so, it’s fun isn’t it!!).
Goodbye for now,
P.s. Take a look at my Darla review! I was fortunate enough to be gifted a beautiful dress to blog about… it’s all here.
