I wanted to chat with you today about my reasons for why I stopped vlogging.
Here’s a little bit of background info…
I’ve been running my Youtube channel for just over a year now (I think!) and don’t get me wrong, I have really enjoyed it so far. It’s just SOOOO time consuming! I don’t know if you know this, but I currently work as an estate agent full time. Therefore any bit of spare time I have, I like to try and experiment with makeup looks.
I thought that Youtube would be a natural follow on from this… I figured I could post makeup tutorials and link it all together. Instead, I started spending hours on the filming and editing of a single video which meant less time for actually creating makeup looks.
It was so easy to get weighed down with the pressures consistently posting. It started to become more of a chore than a pleasure, which is not the way it should be! I realise that you have to put time and hard work into these things, but you shouldn’t let that stop you from enjoying it.
So moving forwards…
…I’ve started this blog. I don’t suppose this will be any less time consuming or easier, but I do know that it works around my schedule/routine much better!! I really admire people that work hard on their blogs and vlogs. I don’t think I realised how much effort goes into it before I started, but as long as it is something that you enjoy, it becomes a lovely hobby. There are so many fantastic people in this community, and I have experienced a lot of care and support which I am so grateful for. It has made me want to keep going in this! If you are thinking of starting a vlog or blog, then I would suggest you go for it! See where it takes you! You may prefer making videos, or typing away like I’m doing now… You’ll find what works 🙂
If you already do this, are you a blogger or a vlogger?! Would you consider doing the other side?
